Fishing

WSC

Fishing at the Wittenberg Sportsmen’s Club encompasses friendship, sportsmanship and most of all having fun.

Over the past 47 years the Club has worked diligently to maintain our pond, our fish and fish population.  We also work continuously to enhance the fishing for our members.

Please browse through our website.  You will see that there is no mystery as to why Wittenberg Sportsmen’s Club pond is great for all…. from the experienced fisherman to the youngest angler. In addition to everyday fishing we host several youth fishing derbies at our open to the public events, which include our annual pig roast. Many youngsters have been thrilled to yield their first fish out of our holding tank and after the event is over they are stocked into our pond. What better way to introduce our youth to one of the best all American past times? We even hold several ice fishing derbies throughout the winter that are fun for the whole family. To help maintain our pond we encourage catch and release. Daily bag limit is 3 fish per member.

Wittenberg Sportsmen’s Club Youth Fishing

Fishing is one of oldest All-American pastimes. It’s easy to learn, easy to teach and doesn’t require lots of expensive equipment. It’s also a great opportunity to build everlasting memories.

Notice the extreme excitement on this little girls face in the video as she catches her first fish ever out of our holding tank at the club’s annual pig roast with the guidance of one of the members. This is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Great ice fishing derby! The weather was absolutely gorgeous, plenty of sunshine and the ice was a foot or more thick. Approximately 42 contestants, lots of fish caught, great weather and lots of good food! Thanks to all that helped with the event and everyone else who came. Thank you to Tim Byron for capturing a great day on video!
